Everyday products we find in our local supermarket, typically go under the radar when it comes to ecological destruction. Our aim here at Destroyed Nature is to raise awareness to the environment impact of some of the everyday products that are often taken for granted. We have four distinct categories of classifying the environmental impact of food, based on our research.
Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Our common products that we buy in the supermarket actually release a considerable amount of greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere, contributing to global warming.
Water Consumption
Tons of clean water is utilized when processing the products. This is not the best for the environment and it leads to shortages of clean water access, especially in dry areas.
Land Efficiency
Some of these products require huge amounts of land to produce too little results.
Biodiversity Impact
Producing these products that we love comes at a cost. Sometimes the environmental cost actually affects the quality of the product itself.
